Blue highways

When I travel I like to take the backroads.  Small two lane (sometimes one lane) roads that are out where real people live.  Those who know when to plant and when to harvest.  Who know when it's going to rain by which way the wind is blowing.  Who have to keep the pump running so they'll have water.  Who fish for food and enjoyment.  Who, when the power goes out, call after three or four hours not in the first three or four seconds.  Who appreciate spring, summer, fall and winter, each for their own value.  Who know when to harvest honey.  Who know that the small things are really the big things.

  1. The feeling of owning the open road is one we share. The total disregard for the laws of the open road is your's alone! Keep to the right, Thelma!
