Uncle Remus

I stopped in Georgia at the Uncles Remus Museum.  I liked these tales when I was growing up and was blind to the racism or patronizing included.  The museum is now more about Joel Chandler Harris than Uncle Remus which probably is due to the times.  The docent was very knowledgeable and eager to talk about the author.  It was a pretty winter day in Georgia and I enjoyed traveling through the small towns on my way to Atlanta.

This is the little cabin that houses the museum.

The wash pot.  Heat the water, scrub the clothes.

Hand-hewn logs.

The notched logs in the corner.
